This policy describes what information Ohoo ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and your choices — written to accurately reflect what the app actually does.
Ohoo is an expense-splitting app operated by ZIND LLC, 2201 N Lakewood Blvd, Ste D222, Long Beach, CA 90815. Contact: ohoo@zind.com.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect the email address and display name (or nickname) you provide. Your password is never stored in readable form — it's handled by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing.
Financial and expense information. The app's core function requires collecting the information you enter about shared expenses: descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, who paid, how a cost is split, and records of payments made between group members. This data is inherently shared with other members of the same group — that's how the app works.
Photos. If you choose to attach a receipt photo to an expense, or set a cover photo for a group, that image is stored and made visible to other members of that group. Both are entirely optional.
Information about other people you add to a group. If you invite someone to a group before they've created an account, we store the name (and, if you provide it, an email or phone number) you've entered for them, so their share of expenses can be tracked. This information is provided by you, not by them, until they join and take ownership of that record themselves.
Information we do not collect. We do not collect your location, access your device's contacts, track your browsing activity, or use advertising identifiers. We do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
We use the information above solely to operate the app's core functionality: authenticating your account, displaying your groups and expenses, calculating balances, sending you transactional emails you've requested (like a password reset), and letting you export your own group's records.
We use the following service providers to operate the app. They process data only as needed to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security commitments:
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Your account information and group data are retained for as long as your account exists.
If you delete your account, your login credentials and personal profile are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Your name and expense history remain visible within any groups you were part of — exactly as if you had left the group — so that other members' shared expense records and balances stay accurate. If you originally created a group, an expense, or a payment record, that record is not deleted, but the attribution to your specific account is removed. This is necessary because expense-splitting inherently depends on shared history remaining intact for everyone else who relied on it.
Ohoo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region).
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at ohoo@zind.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law (such as GDPR or CCPA).
We rely on industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit and at rest, provided through our infrastructure providers. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
